EFAW Emergency First Aid At Work Course
The Emergency First Aid At Work Course is recommended by the Health & Safety Executive and is a non-assessed course.
This is the minimum level of EFAW First Aid training for the workplace, and also suitable for first aid needs in social and domestic settings. There are no specific entry requirements for candidates on the Emergency First Aid At Work course, other than the recommendation we make, that all participants should wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for taking part in practical work at floor level.
What Will I Study?
The course will include a variety of first aid procedures, along with many medical conditions and is a nationally recognised qualification. Topics include:
- Aims and Principles of First Aid
- Action at an Emergency
- Basic Life Support
- Management of the Unconscious Casualty
- Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
- Assessment and treatment of a casualty suffering from a head injury
- Assessment and treatment of casualty suffering from a breathing problems
- Assessment and treatment of a casualty suffering from a heart condition
- Assessment and treatment of bleeding, fractures, and burns
Emergency First Aid At Work Course Tutors
Our first aid course tutors are construction site practitioners with a vast experience of ‘on-site’ realities. They are also Chartered Members of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH); and also qualified and experienced Members of the Institute for Learning (MIfL).
How Will I Be Assessed?
The certificate is awarded to all candidates who successfully completed the one day emergency first aid at work course, demonstrated competence, and took an active role in all practical work and discussion. The certificate is nationally recognised and is valid for 3 years
What Can I Do After I Have Completed The EFAW Course?
The Emergency First Aid At Work course is an excellent introduction towards completing a four day First Aid at Work qualification.
